Modern Poem: Lifeline

There are times in life,
when your paths become hazy.

You cannot tell which road to take,

some situations take over you,
but you cannot deny that situations are

meant to be conquered.

Some relationships or friendships

are made by circumstance but

some are made in heaven.

You cannot force anything to take place 

unless it is designed by God Himself.

And then, there are people who will

leave you when their wills are fulfilled.

But some will wait on you

no matter how astray you go

or how late you come back home.

In the end,

it doesn’t matter who criticizes 

or appreciates you behind your back.

What matters is what you make of yourself,

how you evolve and how you prove yourself.

If there is anything unworthy about you,

it is the feeling of guilt you put into yourself.

You don’t have to be chained to 

what hurts you or brings your esteem down.

You are entitled to freedom and redemption 

because the price has been paid in full.
